Solar Panels and Solar Regulators
We offer monocrystalline and polycrystalline Solar Panels, from 25 to 280 watts. All of our Solar Panels are under warranty for twenty (20) years.
In a Grid-Tie system, higher voltage will assure a better efficiency for any installation. While low voltage grid-tie inverters usually need 25 to 60 volts, they normally offer an efficiency of only 80%. Higher voltage grid-tie inverters needs 150 to 300 volts, but their efficiency is normally greater than 95%.
On the other hand, when you choose a solar panel for a battery system, the data to compare is the amperage. The amperage rate will determine how much time your solar panel will take to charge your batteries.
There are 3 different kind of solar controllers that will protect your batteries : PWM, MPPT and load diversion controllers. If you use a conventional PWM controller, it will only cut the flow of your solar panels, once the batteries are fully charged. An MPPT controller will do the same, but will recover more electricity from the same solar panels, by converting the over-voltage which can not be absorbed by the batteries, into charging amperage. The other way would be to connect your solar panels directly to your batteries, without any regulator, and use a load diversion controller to divert the over-current. You could use this over-current to power a DC electric heater, a water heater, an electric motor, some lighting, etc.
For a complete system, you can easily combine solar panels and wind turbines and then benefit of a complete hybrid installation. For most of the systems, we can offer hybride charge controllers for wind turbines and solar panels. You could also use two different controllers for each electrical sources.
